Water creautures and Spirits

Bagnik is a creature of Belarusian mythology living in “bagna” (a lifeless peat swamp). It always expects its victim in its swamp.

According to Belarusian folklore Oziornitsy are some creatures living in the lake and resembling young women. They have long green hair, dark skin and webbed feet.

According to Belarusian belief, Orzhavennik is a spirit of swamps covered with rust called arzhavenne (from "аржа" [arzha] — rust). It is dirty red with rust spots, and has an extraordinarily large belly and thin legs like horsetail stems.

Fish Tsar is the master of all fish. According to its wish shoals of fish swim from one lake to another, from one river to another. As a result some places are poor while others are full of fish.
